Fé em Deus é o desejo profundo e sincero de que o fim último de nossa existência se constitua ele próprio o princípio supremo do Bem, desejo que é tanto mais real quanto menos se arrefece diante dos revezes da fortuna e das dúvidas que, teoricamente, a razão suscita. Trata-se, pois, de um sentimento de prazer perante a condição sob a qual somente é possível o objeto necessário de uma vontade moralmente determinada. É acima de tudo o que nos leva a tomar por verdadeira a promessa da Salvação, na medida em que esta promessa foi firmada no "pacto" ungido com o Sangue derramado de Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. O Reino dos Ceús está dentro de nós se, pecadores como somos, cumprirmos incondicionalmente, em cada ato, palavra e pensamento, a parte que nos cabe: amar ao próximo como a nós mesmos e a Deus sobre todas as coisas. Deus, em sua infinita misericórdia, espera dos seus filhos o sacro-ofício.

Faith in God is the deep and sincere desire that the last finality of our existence coincides with the supreme principle of the Good, desire that is so much more real as fewer it decreases before contingencies of the fortune and of the doubts that, theoretically, the reason raises. It consists, therefore, in a pleasure feeling before the condition under which is only possible the necessary object of a will morally motivated. It is above all what moves the intellect to take for true the promise of the Salvation, in the measure in that this promise was stamped with the "pact" of the spilled Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
